Basic Information on Visegrad Scholarship Programme for Ukrainian Students (academic year 2005/2006)

     The Visegrad Scholarship Programme is a specific programme of the International Visegrad Fund created for the purpose of facilitating academic exchanges between the Visegrad countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia) and Ukraine.
     The length of supported period of study / research project shall be 10 months (two semesters). The level of studies supported is doctoral studies (Ph.D. programme) or other post-master studies.
     Each of the Visegrad countries will host up to eight students for academic year 2005/2006. The amount of granted scholarships is 5.000 EUR for each student and 3.000 EUR for the hosting university.
     Visegrad Scholarship Programme for Ukrainian Students provides scholarships for outstanding master degree (or equivalent) holder under 35 years age limit (not reaching 35 years by the application deadline). In case applicant is finishing his/her master studies, the certificate must be submitted before the signing of the contract by the IVF’s Executive Director and no later than August 31, 2005.
     The main selection criteria are the scientific merit and originality of applicant’s working plan/research project.
     The applicants should apply using application form, which can be found on the IVF’s website www.visegradfund.org. The application must also include the following enclosures:
     1. Copy of the certified English translation of the diploma, proving achieved Master or equivalent university degree
     2. Letter of acceptance from the hosting University or Institution
     3. Working plan of the study period, approved by the sending University/Institution, and accepted by the hosting University/Institution. In case of research projects, its short description accepted by the hosting University/Institution is essential.
     *** Please note that deadline is April 25, 2005. We will not accept any documents sent by post after this date. The application file (without enclosures) must be sent to the Fund also by email no later than April 25, 2005 ***
